Starting in Dec, Oak Ridge National Laboratory and Y-12 National Security Complex will both manage their own security forces to protect their sites.

A new security contractor will take over at federal sites in Oak Ridge at the end of December, only the contract does not include Oak Ridge National Laboratory or Y-12 National Security Circuitous. National Strategic Protective Services LLC on Monday said it has completed the first year of its protective forcefulness services contract with the U.South. Department of Energy in Oak Ridge.

"A lot of difficult work went into winning and transitioning this critical infrastructure contract in early 2013. NSPS is a joint venture of Triple Canopy Inc. and Securiguard Inc. Evins Federal Edifice, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and Y-12 National Security Complex.

Merely WSI lost its contract to guard Y-12, a National Nuclear Security Administration site, later on the July 28 security breach, and it did not win a separate contract to protect local U.Southward.
